About me…in 2015

My work is focused on vocational education, specifically the crisis facing private private postsecondary for profit programs and institutions. I teach health adminstration courses at California State University Northridge. I am involved in bringing the acupuncture profession into the medical mainstream. I have published several peer-reviewed papers since 2010 on the acpuncture workforce. It is my belief that the shortage of primary care providers in the mainstream coupled with the increase of newly insured persons in our nation will eventually require consideration of the historically marginalized “complementary and alternative” fields as eligible providers. Training will be important. My background as a health professions educator and program evaluator in both worlds provides with the right perspective to see this through.
